Icelandic Provisions Skyr Yogurt Review (Strawberry with Lingonberry Skyr Review)

This is my own personal review of Icelandic Provisions Skyr; a unique icelandic yogurt blend which is certainly thicker and has higher protein content than most other yogurt brands. The unique cultures found in Skyr benefit digestive health [1], also take note that this brand actually has roots in Iceland; the origin of this type of yogurt, as it was outlined in this article [2]. The company is owned by Mjólkursamsalan (MS) Iceland Dairies which is in Iceland and Polaris, which is in NY and in the USA [3]. Most believe (including Icelanders) that this yogurt is most alike to their native homemade family recipes [4] [5]. 

I bought this product in bulk on Amazon.

However the seller has since stopped selling it on there (as it was an independent seller not the actual company).

So I recommend buying from Target online or in-store : HERE.

TASTE

This yogurt is really an acquired taste, but it tastes more ''natural'' as it does thick. It isn't watered down and has a unique mixture of flavor. The lingonberries are certainly tart. The great thing is its high in protein and filling. Great as a post-workout snack food! 

There isn't much way to describe it other than its delicious in its own way, if you compare it to Chobani Greek Yogurt, the greek yogurt is watery at some points, sometimes the consistency is off - but with this, its always thick and filling. The taste never wanes and seems to stay good longer in the fridge. I like it.

The unique blends and different flavors this company sells (IMO) make it one of the most quality companies.

PRICE

Goes from around 1$ to nearly 2$ per 5.3 oz, sometimes cheaper depending on what store you shop at. I will say this - its worth the price! With how filling and tasty it is. Makes it well worth it.

COMPANY STYLE

Probably the only other thing to say about this brand is how reputable their company is. They actually have their roots in Iceland and that, in my opinion makes them more knowledgeable and reputable (for obvious reasons).

HEALTH

The active probiotic cultures benefit digestive health and improve immune system function. The high-protein content is ideal for all peoples; but especially those into fitness and bodybuilding, such as myself.

CONTINUANCE AND COMPARISON TO OTHER BRANDS

Siggi's is pretty good too, but their drinkable yogurt is often a little too sour (as if fruit taste is the strongest). Their regular Skyr yogurt is tasty as well - but it just doesn't have that 'natural' taste like this brand. But its not terrible, either, and each have the same health benefits - it just depends on what kind of 'sweet and tangy' you like!!!!!
