How to Cure Intrusive Thoughts 2019 [Curing OCD Compulsions 2019]

Intrusive Thoughts are a type of "obsessional" thought in those with OCD; Obsessive Compulsive Disorder [1]. Previously, there was a proposal to name such a condition predominated by Intrusive Thoughts versus traditional compulsions as "Pure O OCD" [2]. O - standing for Obsessions. However, this term was quickly dismissed by the Medical Establishment stating that it does not exist in the way depicted [3].

Intrusive Thoughts are characterized by an intense fear [4] and often are dramatic and based on either Moral Rigor [5] or some fear of being "impure" in some way [6]. Guilt and Fear of Self also play a role in creating the neurological-environment for Intrusive Thoughts [7].

Intrusive Thoughts, contrary to Article in [2] - DO come with Compulsions. It is nearly impossible to disengage ALL intrusive thoughts.

To eliminate Intrusive Thoughts, willpower is necessary. You must learn to accept and tolerate the fear associated with the thoughts. However hard it is - you must stay rational. Its the only way to beat them! Trust me, I know - I've had intrusive thoughts since like 12-years old!!!

Because intrusive thoughts are a "fear-based disorder" - the primary way to control it would be to make it easier to control the fear by suppressing the intensity of the thoughts - and the frequency. Because these intrusive thoughts can get almost Psychotic in nature it is important to treat intrusive thoughts as soon as an appropriate treatment is discovered [8].

Normally, SSRI's such as Fluvoxamine (Luvox) are recommended for this purpose. However these drugs have many side-effects - and can cause permanent nerve damage [9] [10] [11].

So I did some research. It appears that a few supplements are capable of treating Intrusive Thoughts pretty effectively!

5 Supplements to Cure/Treat Intrusive Thoughts (2019)

  1. N-Acetyl-Cyseine (NAC) [12]: N-Acetyl-Cysteine in multiple large studies and Clinical Trials was shown to reduce the severity of OCD-symptoms; especially Obsessions (thoughts).
  2. Borage Oil (Echium Amoenum) [13]: Borage Oil or "red feathers" is useful for reducing Obsessive-Compulsive symptoms - and it appears comparable to SSRI's - and also helps as an adjunct.
  3. Caffeine [200MG/day] [14]: Caffeine and dextroamphetamine both improve OCD-symptoms - most likely by stimulating certain receptors in the Brain and by allowing one to "get out of their head". When you are stimulated - you tend to pay attention to things around you...think, if a Bear appeared behind you - your Heart would start racing...you wouldn't be paying attention to what is IN your Head at that point! Because Adrenaline, gets you out of your Head...!
  4. Reducing Cortisol/ACTH levels with Phosphatidylserine [15] [16] + KSM-66 [17] (Ashwagandha Extract): Ashwagandha is a proven anti-Anxiety/anti-OCD remedy [18] - and produces beneficial results with Intrusive Thoughts & Compulsions [19] - even in Rodents [20].
  5. Inositol (18 grams/per day) [21] [22]: Inositol treats Obsessive-Compulsive disorder, in part, by increasing the concentration (amount) of Dopamine D2-receptors in the Brain [23] - low Dopamine D2-receptors are commonly found in OCD-patients [24]
*HIGH-DOSE Zinc treatment has also been studied in OCD - however the dose they used in The STUDY was MASSIVE!!! 440 mg/day is hardly tenable for most people and IMO would cause some pretty intense nausea.
