What is a Nucleotide/Nucleoside? (Definition of Nucleotide/Nucleoside)

"Area, can you please explain to me what (in simple terms) a Nucleotide/Nucleoside is?"

A nucleotide is a DNA-compound, more specifically a macromolecule that conveys (signals) genetic information in living cells. A nucleotide contains 1-3 phosphate groups whereas a nucleoside does not.
