HGH and Dopamine (HGH Effect on Dopamine) (HGH Article Fall 2017)

In our last article we talked about HGH and cycling, specifically, that HGH caused real, studied and reported fat loss and caused the growth of new receptors - if that's the case, and HGH has so many effects on cell systems and tissues, would it be unreasonable to think that HGH can do the same to dopaminergic neurons? Of course not! In fact, that's one of the major things that scientists are working on - not elucidating the effects of HGH on dopamine, but finding out ways to make it work. We already know how it works. So how does it work?

Well it turns out that HGH - human growth hormone, actually rebuilds the dopamine networks in the Brain and the peripheral nervous system [1], making it a promising treatment for Parkinson's Disease [2], a disease marked by degeneration of dopamine nerves in the body [3]. HGH works so well for this that there are new patents for HGH in this area [4]. Additionally, HGH can actually INCREASE the firing rate for dopaminergic neurons [5]. This means there is a functional enhancement in amplitude for dopamine and its effects.

In the studies, authors noted similar changes to that produced with antidepressant drugs; indicating that HGH had a direct effect on neurotransmitters and their breakdown patterns. Specifically, that HGH slowed/reversed the breakdown of dopamine and increased the plasma level of dopamine while decreasing the metabolites HVA.

CONCLUSION : Human Growth Hormone has a positive impact on dopamine levels and activity as well as on the number of dopaminergic neurons in the Brain and Body.
